Doofenshmirtz Evil layer!

Every time I see this BG I am compelled to sing the Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated jingle. Another fun one I got to paint.

My Little Pony

These are some bgs that I worked on for the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I used Adobe Illustrator for the clean-up. Pencils were done by Dave Dunnet.

Art of 3 Armies

I wanted to post some of the animation I created for 3 Armies. All the animations we done using Flash.
To import the files into Unity 3D I used a program called Sprite Manager 2 (SM2). This is a helpful program if you have all the animation/frames already done. SM2 takes all of your existing frames and compiles them into one image in Unity. This is really helpful if you plan to make games for the iPhone or iPad as it will drastically lower the amount of draw calls that appear on the screen.

Background art from 3 Armies

I wanted to post some of the artwork that went into making 3 Armies. This is Cavalyard, the first place you encounter. The finished background was uploaded as two separate files to help lower memory. I built and colored this in Illustrator, then imported it into Photoshop to make some final tweaks.
Since I had a strong idea of what I wanted to do, most of the backgrounds I penciled were pretty loose. Below is the pencil rough I worked from.

You probably noticed that I didn't draw out the entire background. Since you don't ever see the entire background on the screen at once, it allowed me to reuse some of the BG elements. :-)

3 Armies

Here are a couple of characters from an iPhone game that I'm making. Each one represents one of the three races in my game world - Humans, Orc & Elves. I've been spending the greater part of this year learning Unity 3D. It's a very powerful game engine with a pretty easy learning curve. I'm hoping to have the game finished by the end of this year and available on the App store shortly thereafter. I'll post more art as I get closer to launch.

Kick Buttowski

Here are a few more backgrounds from Kick Buttowski which I worked on. I really like the look of the show. It has a clean graphic look. The ratings having been doing well so hopefully there will be a second season. Can't wait!

My RPG FlashDemo

My flash project "Moonvale" is finally up! Check it out at andymation.com.
This has been a fun project for me. Over the past few years I've been learning Actionscript 2.0 (AS2), the programming language for Flash, in an effort to learn game programming. I bought a few AS2 books and read every tutorial I could find online.
At this point its only a demo, but there is still lots to do. You can talk to villagers and help them with quests. Battle evil creatures and vile snakes! Even upgrade your armor. This isn't a complete game, more like an exercise. I hope you enjoy going through Moonvale just as much as I had fun creating it!

So long, farewell

Foster's has come to an end after almost five years of fun. I will really miss everyone on that show. I'll especially miss my morning walks with friends to Starbucks. Sadly, I had to leave before we finished the final episode, but I can't wait to see how it turned out.

I recently started a new project with some friends which is taking up most of my time. We had this crazy notion of starting our own business. The project is called Rune of Gallidon, an online fantasy world driven by the artistic community. I'll keep you posted as we get closeer to launch.

Bloo Super Dude!

The opening pan from the show.

Some chars from Bloo Superdude.

A couple more BGs from Super Bloo Dude
This has to be one of the most fun episodes I've done. We dive into Bloo's imagination as he tells Mac about a Super hero (himself) and the insurmountable obstacles he must overcome. For a colorist these are the shows you really look forward to.

Foster's Halloween special

I can't believe it's been almost 2 years since my last post. I'll try and be more consistent! Here is the title BG I did for the Foster's Halloween show which aired last year.
